Townhouse Luxury Wallpaper Installation

The Challenge

Each room featured a different wallpaper, demanding careful colour coordination across the property. The dining room's de Gournay panels were individually numbered and had to be hung in precise sequence on walls with original Victorian irregularities. The stairwell installation required working at considerable height with heavy rolls of paper.

Our Approach

We began by re-lining every wall receiving wallpaper with heavy-gauge lining paper hung horizontally to create a perfectly smooth, uniform substrate. Each wallpaper was then hung by our specialist paperhangers, working from carefully established datum lines. The de Gournay panels were unwrapped one at a time and positioned using laser levels to ensure perfect alignment. Painted surfaces throughout were finished in colours specifically mixed to complement each room's wallpaper selection.

The Result

The completed townhouse is a masterclass in curated wallpaper design, with each room presenting a distinct character while the property flows harmoniously as a whole. The de Gournay dining room has become the centrepiece of the home.
