Use the original source
For a public review, follow the link to the independent platform and check the business identity, review date and complete review history. Do not rely on a copied star score.
Protect client privacy
A private reference should be shared only with the client’s permission. Ask questions relevant to a comparable scope, property and completion date.
Compare the evidence
Use feedback alongside the written specification, current credentials and relevant completed-work evidence. A testimonial is not proof of insurance, qualifications or contractual terms.
Ask for evidence relevant to your project
If a suitable client is willing to act as a reference, ask about a comparable scope: preparation, communication, access, variations, handover and how any concern was addressed. Personal details should not be published or shared without consent.
