Mansion Flat Communal Areas Redecoration

The Challenge

Maintaining access for residents throughout the works was paramount, with the single main staircase needing to remain passable at all times. The entrance lobby featured original Edwardian tiling and timber panelling that required careful protection. Painting had to be conducted with minimal odour given the proximity to residential front doors.

Our Approach

We painted one half of each corridor and staircase at a time, allowing residents to pass on the completed side while the opposite wall was being worked on. All original features, including the tiled entrance floor and timber post boxes, were meticulously masked and protected. Low-VOC paints were used throughout, and we operated a strict no-radio, minimal-noise policy during working hours. Woodwork was prepared and finished to a high standard using oil-based eggshell for its superior durability in high-traffic areas.

The Result

The communal areas now present a smart, welcoming environment that reflects the building's prestige. The residents' association reported unanimous positive feedback, and the management company has commissioned us to maintain the decoration on a rolling five-year programme.
